Poppy’s life seems perfect on the outside, but behind closed doors she has progressively become more and more unsafe as her father’s grief pours heavily into a glass full of amber liquor.
When Poppy starts her senior year of high school, she learns that her choices have consequences because sneaking out to do a school project with the boy next door changes the course of Poppy’s life. It presents her with the opportunity to live with a caring family and get the help she and her father desperately need. She doesn’t hesitate to take the chance at a better life, but her father has different ideas.
Lewis learns why Poppy stopped being friends with them shortly after the death of her mom, but nothing has changed for him. He still loves her, and when he finds out they have science together, he wants nothing more than to be her lab partner. But when Poppy is no longer his neighbor, the question is does that change anything?
Poppy begins to build a new life, starts dating the cute boy that used to live next door, and starts to play music again. When
Poppy starts to feel happy and thinks that her father has disappeared, he pops up to hurt and torment Poppy and the people she has grown to love. This leaves Poppy and everyone around her to ask themselves: is Saving Poppy worth the sacrifices others must make?
